Jaewon Son has studied in [https://www.da-vienna.ac.at/en/ Diplomatische Akademie Wien] and Korea University. After being awarded as one of the outstanding performers in the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) 2018, she was appointed by [https://www.kisa.or.kr/eng/main.jsp Korea Internet & Security Agency] (KISA) to attend ICANN 63 Annual General Meeting in Barcelona as a civilian expert. As a committee member of Korea Internet Governance Alliance (KIGA), she has organized the 8th KrIGF (Korea Internet Governance Forum) to encourage the local community to be aware of Internet-related issues and initiated the first youth session in Korea. As a NextGen fellow, she has attended ICANN 64 in Kobe to present the role of the Internet of Things in disaster risk reduction. She has attended APrIGF 2019 as a fellow and was a speaker for the "Analyzing Perspectives on Youth Participation in the Multi-stakeholder Landscape" and “Big tech everywhere: Is this the future of the Internet?” session. In addition, she has attended APIGA 2019 as a keynote speaker and mentor while presenting on KrIGF during "IGF & NRIs: Smart Tips for a Successful Workshop" session and sharing her IG journey during "Way forward and Future Engagement" session.
