Marc Blanchet is the President of Viagenie, where he has worked in various network engineering capacities since 1996.

Career History[edit | edit source]

Blanchet has been active in standards development since the 1990s.

ICANN and Internet Governance Participation[edit | edit source]

Blanchet has held various roles in IETF. He was the co-chair of the IDN WG in the early 2000s and an IAB member. He has co-authored 17 RFCs on subjects such as internationalized domain names (IDNs, IPv6, and RDAP. He has been a member of the Root Zone Label Generation Rules Integration Panel. He was co-chair of IETF's IANA Functions Stewardship Transition working group. He has been involved in space communications standards at the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS).[1]

Blanchet has a bachelor's and a master's electric engineering from Université Laval.[2]

Awards[edit | edit source]

Blanchet received the ICANN Leadership Award in 2016.
