AfgNIC is an organization under Afghanistan's ICT Directorate, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). It is responsible for managing the country's .af ccTLD, as well as overseeing administration of IP address assignment through coordination with NIRA, the National Internet Registry of Afghanistan (NIRA).[1]
AfgNIC works with many governmental organizations on facilitating internet expansion in Afghanistan. This includes conducting workshops and seminars throughout the country with the help of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) experts, as well as implementing CoCCA Registry Software with the support of CoCCA (Council of Country Code Administrators) and with local support of ADRAS (Afghanistan Development & Registry Addressing Services).[1]
