Lynn St. Amour is the former President of The Internet Society.
Professional Experience[edit | edit source]
After graduating from the University of Vermont, Lynn St. Amour began her career working for General Electric Corporation. After GE, she occupied numerous management positions for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), including:
- Director of Pricing for Sales and Marketing in Europe
- Corporate Strategic Alliance Director
- Sales and Product Forecasting Team Leader
- Leader of the worldwide Capacity Management Team[1]
The experience gained afterward within AT&T as a director of Business Development and Joint Venture Operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa helped her lead negotiation teams and the development of several telecommunications joint ventures with leading European companies.
She first came to ISOC in 1998 as the Executive Director of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. St. Amour played a very important role in ISOC's international expansion. In 1999 she became Global Executive Director and COO, and in 2001 she became President and CEO.[2] She left the position in August 2013.
ISOC is a nonprofit organization that aims at providing leadership in issues related to the Internet, education and policy. The association wants to encourage the productive evolution and use of the Internet all over the world. [3]
