Ute Decker is a London based lawyer,[1] she currently works as the Director of Standards and Interoperability (EMEA) at Microsoft.[2]
Career History
Decker started her career as a Researcher and Lecturer at the Institute for Information, Telecommunication and Media Law in Muenster. Ute has spoken at national and international conferences and workshops around the world and has been published works on copyright and international trade.[3] Before Decker joined Microsoft, she was the Deputy Director for Global Legal Policy for the International Trade Association representing the recording industry worldwide (IFPI). She specialises in IP law and has practiced in Germany and England. In 2005, she was selected as a member of the IPC.[4] She has also been the member of ICANN's NomCom.[5]
Education
She is currently working on her EMBA at the Cass Business School, which she is expected to complete in 2012. Decker holds a diploma in European Law from the King's College London, U. of London and QLIT from BPP Law School.[6] She graduated from Mainz University in Germany.
