Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

It is the registrant's responsibility, before any reservation request, to perform all appropriate verifications. In particular, they must ensure that the domain name does not infringe upon:

  • a prior distinctive sign, whether it involves a trademark right, or a right related to a company name, trade name, or commercial designation; * a designation of origin, or a geographical indication;
  • a personal right; or
  • a copyright.

In general, the registrant must ensure that the domain name:

  • does not violate public order, applicable laws, or customary practices;
  • is not defamatory or racist;
  • is not likely to be considered speculative or abusive.[2]

Characters[edit | edit source]

The domain name must be between four and sixty-three characters.[3]
