.gq is the ccTLD for Equatorial Guinea. It is managed by GETESA.[1]

Rules and Restrictions edit

The ccTLD of Equatorial Guinea is an open registry. Any individual or legal entity can register a GQ domain. There is no restriction on the number of domains a single person or entity can own.

GQ domains are available for purchase as well as free registration.[2] The Dominio GQ Registry does not allow any free domain name registrations of which the referred websites contain content similar as stated in the categories below:

  • Racism: this category includes websites that contain violent content, racial intolerance or advocacy against any individual, group, or organization. This includes nazi propaganda websites, homophobic content and others.
  • Insults: this category includes websites that contain vulgar statements, rudeness, personal, religious or cultural insults against any individual, group or organization. This includes anti-religious websites and others.

  • Non-existent pages: This category includes domains where the content does not exist, shows an empty page, shows an error message, shows a "not available" page or is hidden behind a firewall or used with a VPN and is therefore not available for the public and for Dominio GQ’s content verification systems.[3]
