.sk is the ccTLD for Slovakia. It is managed by SK-NIC, a.s. [1]
Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]
An applicant may be any physical or legal person that has a postal address (address to receive physical paper forms of communication) in any of the European Union member states, or a state within the European Economic Area, a member state of the European Free Trade Association or in the United Kingdom.
A domain name must not use words that are elements of:
- a trademark registered by the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic;
- an international trademark with Slovak Republic label;
- a European Union trademark;
- a trademark with a reputation within European Union territory; or
- a mark of common knowledge that became commonly known within Slovak Republic territory or in relation to Slovak Republic regardless of its country of origin, to which the rights belong to a person other than the Registrant.[2]
Characters[edit | edit source]
A domain name must have a maximum of 63 characters and consist of Latin letters (a-z), digits (0-9) and the “hyphen”. A hyphen cannot be in the beginning nor the end of the label, and two hyphens cannot be positioned consecutively.[2]
