Nasrat is an ICT innovation activist currently working with one of the leading development donors in Afghanistan. He was previously engaged with international NGOs, implementing partners, public sector and has succeeded throughout the startup cycle of an international ICT firm. Nasrat’s work focuses on the economic and social impacts of new technologies and development of ideas on how technology could be used in fragile and developing states such as Afghanistan. Nasrat works with the The World Bank Group[1] under the South Asia region. He is the lead IT staff for Afghanistan country office and takes care of all ICT related activities for Afghanistan. He is actively engaged in the Afghanistan Portfolio and has contributed to the Urban, Health and Education sectors.
2010-2012:[edit | edit source]
Chemonics International, IT Manager: As the IT manager for Chemonics International, Nasrat assisted in development of the Afghanistan financial markets with the project called Financial Assistance for Investing in the development of Afghanistan (FAIDA[2]). The project worth more than a 100M USD at the time was funded by the department of state through USAID[3].
American University of Afghanistan (AUAF[4]), IT Unit Manager: As the IT Unit manager for the Professional Development Institute (PDI[5]) Nasrat was initiated the first ever TOEFL test center, The Microsoft learning academy, Cisco Learning Academy and the testing platform for Pearson VUE and Prometric testing center. This has played a key role in the development of Afghanistan's ICT sector.

Founder, Board Member, Innovation and Technology Research Center for Afghanistan (ITRCA)[edit | edit source]
ITRCA, a non-profit organization is made up of a group of volunteer intellectuals residing both in Afghanistan and internationally who believe that ICT is one of the major driver for modern development. We have formed a team and are concentrating on different researches on the ICT Sector of Afghanistan and the region. The group focuses on research that prevents ICT downfalls and spurs innovation and sustainability. Mainly our works are of policies that can ensure technological change, innovation and a better regulatory for the country; engagement in policy research, policy analysis and advocacy. We also do market research, policy and regulatory review, analysis and advisement.

Board Member, National IT Professional Association of Afghanistan (NITPAA)[edit | edit source]
NITPAA is an advocate of IT infrastructure development, innovative expansion and capacity development through strategic use of technology. As a not-for-profit, membership-driven organization, it relies on volunteer collaboration of its members. Membership is available to all individuals in Afghanistan and Afghans working and studying abroad.
