Souleymane Oumtanaga is the General Manager of Nic.ci He has held this position since 1992. He is also a professor at the national Polytechnic Institute Felix Houphouët-Boigny. He is also a member of the LARIT.

He serves as the Director, Strategic Partnerships at APTLD.[1]

Career History[edit | edit source]

Mr. Oumtanaga has served as the head of CFTIC (Training centre for Information and Communication Technologies), EDIA ( Doctoral School of Computer Sciences) and the University of Rennes.[2] He is the initiator of many internet related projects in his country like the AI3L and the CIIXP and IPV6 deployment in Ivory Coast.[3]

He has been the Vice President of Capacity Building[4] and has worked at INPHB.[5]

He was AFNIC International College members in 2003.[6]

He was an instructor at 2nd EURO-NF Summer School on Socio-Economic and Governance Issues.[7]

He was a speaker at Internet Governance, Role of AfriNIC and IPv4 to IPv6 Challenges.[8] He was the chair at Advanced Registry Operation Course Workshop during two sessions.[9] He was a panelist at Worldwide NIC's co-development : "Joint initiative for an automated management"[10] He was a speaker at FORUM FOR AFRICAN POLICY MAKERS AND REGULATORS ON INTERNET GOVERNANCE[11] He was a chair at 4th AfTLD African ccTLD Event.[12]

He attended First African ccTLD Workshop, where he gave a presentation about automated Registry System.[13]>>>

He attends AFTLD meetings.[14] [15][16] ICANN Meetings[17] AfriNIC meetings.[18][19] In 2009, he seconded Dr. Paulos Nyirenda to represent African Region at ccNSO council.[20] while he himself also represents Africa at the ccNSO council.[21][22]
