He was appointed to his position as WIPO Arbitrator in 2000. In that same year, he established Studio Barbero, which specialized in intellectual property rights on the Internet and domain name arbitration, and Barbero & Associates Ltd, a company headquartered in London, specializing in worldwide domain name registrations, search and monitoring services, and confidential acquisitions of trademarks and domain names.[3]
Barbero has also worked as Partner at Jacobacci & Partners S.p.A for seven years.[4]
