Roland LaPlante is the CMO and Senior Vice President of Afilias;[1] he has held that position since 2001.[2]
Roland has been known to represent Afilias at meetings[3] and in the media.[4][5]
Mr. LaPlante is on ISOC-Philadelphia's board of directors.[6]
He participates in various industry conferences, and has also presented and held discussions at many of these meetings.[7]
Experience
Roland LaPlante has overseen the marketing and launch of .info and many of Aflias' 14 other TLDs;[8] such as .org, .asia, .aero, .mobi, and a number of ccTLDs.[9]
Roland's successful, 30-year career in marketing has seen him in major roles at McGraw Hill, Providian Corporation, Citibank, Xlibris, and Heublein Inc. Highlights from this work includes his global management of Smirnoff Vodka's marketing, internet launches for prominent clients of McGraw Hill, and the transformation of Xlibris into a highly respected Internet publisher.
