Joe Abley is a Trustee at NZNOG Trust and the Director of DNS Operations at ICANN. Mr. Abley is also the Network Architect at TekSavvy Solutions, Inc. He serves as the Technical Committee Chair at LonIX Advisory Council and Director at Hopcount Limited. He provides direction and management for ICANN's production DNS services and is an active contributor to IETF.[1]
He has written several RFCs.

From 2002-2003, he worked at the ISC, where he had the responsibility of the architecture and operation of ISC's networks in California and in the twenty F root nameserver nodes distributed around the world, many of which he helped install. While he was at ISC, he taught at workshops and tutorial in many parts of the world.[5]
