.hiv is a proposed TLD for spreading awareness and joining in the fight against HIV and AIDs. It is an initiative of BetterPlace.org and is being persuaded by gut.org gAG and Peter Dengate Thrush, Dr. Peter H. Seeberger, Bernd Kundrun and Michael Stich.[1] The application for this TLD will be submitted in January 2012 and then if ICANN approves it will go online.[2] The idea is that every website in the world will have a .hiv version too and if someone visits the website with .hiv TLD some fixed amount of the profits made will go to the organizations which are working for the cure and prevention of HIV and AIDS.[3] Anyone, who is interested in the project, can contribute towards it by contacting dot hiv through their email address.
