Joao Nuno Ferreira is the Technical Director at the Foundation for National Scientific Computing (FCCN). Previously, he was the Head of the Technical Staff at FCCN.[1]As the Technical Director at FCCN, Joao Nuno Ferreira has stressed the importance of migrating from IPv4 to IPv6, due to an overflow of IPv4 adresses.[2] He is also the coordinator of the Administration and Practice Group of the IPv6 Task force. [3]
Joao Nuno Ferreira is involved with the Feasibility Study for African – European Research and Education Network Interconnection Project (FEAST) which studies the feasibility of interconnecting African National Research and Education Networks (NREN) and European NRENs.[4] [5]
Joao Nuno Ferreira has contributed to numerous books and presentations including; the Site Security Handbook,[6] IPv6 Tutorial,[7] Deliverable D3.4.2 of 6net.org[8] and presented at the Southern Africa 6DISS workshop.[9]
