ICANNWiki has become known for the caricatures it creates for ICANN conference attendees and their online profiles. This is not the work of any type of automated software, but instead the work of various dedicated artists from around the country. It is our way of saying thank-you for opting into the ICANNWiki system, as inclusion on our site is largely voluntary and community driven. We pre-print all caricatures prior to the conference in order to give them out at our booth, and they are designed to fit perfectly inside the name badge given at each ICANN conference. All caricatures are printed with our Caricature Sponsor's logo and a QR code that leads to the person's page. By the end of the week you'll see a large number of ICANN community members showing off their caricatures in their badges. ICANN community members have also been known to use their caricatures as avatars on social media platforms.
Caricatures Sponsor
Being the Caricature Sponsor is one of three special sponsorship opportunities that we currently offer. They are only available to our Platinum Sponsors, who enjoy the highest offerings our sponsorship program provides. Platinum sponsorship, and by extension the special sponsorship opportunities, contribute to our continued, enthusiastic participation at all three annual ICANN conferences. At these events we have an official booth space that is used to educate newcomers about our site, update the articles of established ICANN attendees, and hand out our popular give-aways.
Platinum Sponsorship includes the exclusive placement of your logo on one of these desirable gifts. The Caricature Sponsor has their logo prominently displayed on the front of each caricature printed out at our booth. A visit to our site or the booth automatically familiarizes anyone with our unique "brand," that is, our caricatures. Each conference we contract with a talented artist to provide caricatures for new attendees, which fit perfectly into the name badges that are worn by all ICANN attendees. We also print off caricatures for those individuals who had them made at previous conferences, always with the Caricature Sponsor's logo.
By the end of the week everyone will have noticed the large amount of caricatures bobbing on the lanyards around people's necks, and they often become a hot-topic for hallway conversation. Being the Caricature Sponsor is a truly rewarding opportunity; an opportunity to show your support of an important, grassroots, community driven project and also see your brand further represented at the most important fora on Internet policy development.
Note: Participation as Caricature Sponsor is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The current Caricature Sponsor is Verisign. Other high-level sponsorship opportunities include prominent placement on our playing cards, our map illustrations, and placement on individual, high-trafficked pages on the ICANNWiki site.
