Aremi Group is a company based in Luxembourg and an applicant for the .art gTLD. The company aims to utilize the string to promote art and to serve as the primary online destination for artistic individuals, art organizations and institutions. The company also claimed that it is rightful trademark holder of the .art and dot art trade marks. This strategy of registering the related "dot[blank]" ".[blank]" trademark, as was done with "dotart" and ".art" in this case, is widely known to be a contentious and fallacious strategy.^[1]^[2]
