PiRRC, or Pacific ICT Regulatory Resource Centre, is a project that is administered by LIRNEasia for the World Bank. It is currently located in Fiji and directed by Muhammed Aslam Hayat.[1] The organization's establishment was officially endorsed at the Pacific Regional Information & Communication Technology Ministers held on June 18th, 2010 in Nuku’alofa, Tonga.[2]
PiRRC encourages the sharing of information and industry data to aid ICT policymaking and regulation throughout the Pacific. They work with a cross-section of individuals to accomplish this goal, including national regulators, policymakers, and regional institutions such as University of the South Pacific and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat. Their Steering Committee consists of representatives from Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Federated States of Micronesia, Samoa, Cook Islands, and Australia.[2]
