More information:

.reise, which means "trip" or "tour" in German, is a proposed TLD in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The applicant is dotreise GmbH. A similar string, .reisen, was applied for by portfolio applicant Donuts.[1]

Representatives of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland issued a joint GAC Early Warning against both .reise and .reisen. The warning system is noted as a strong recommendation on behalf of national governments to the ICANN Board that a given TLD application should be denied as it stands. Applicants are encouraged to work with objecting GAC members.[2]

The warning states that it is their belief that .reise and .reisen should be put in a contention set and considered together, and that the applicant should restrict the TLD to entities legitimately involved in the tourism industry.[3]
