Debbie Monahan is the Domain Name Commissioner at the Domain Name Commission, part of the InternetNZ Group.[1]

Her responsibilities include authorising registrars, developing and monitoring the .nz policies and ensuring the market operates in a way that protects the rights and relationships of all parties in the .nz market.[2]

Debbie Monahan has an M.A. from the University of Strathclyde .

  • From 1982 to 1998, Debbie Monahan worked as a Forensic Scientist; National Client and Service Centre Manager at Institute of Environmental Science and Research Ltd (ESR).
  • From 1998 to 2000, she was the Manager of Intellectual Property Office at the Ministry of Economic Development.
  • Debbie worked as a Manager of Personal Properties Security Register at the Ministry of Economic Development from April 2000 to May 2001.
  • From May 2001 to May 2002, she was the Regional Manager, Community Probation at the Department of Corrections.
  • Since May 2002, she has been serving as the Domain Name Commissioner at Domain Name Commission Ltd, InternetNZ Group.
