Monica Abalo has been a Professor at the University of Business and Social Sciences since 2009. She has been a member of ISOC since 2006, and the President at Argentina Chapter of ISOC since 2008. She is the current director and owner of Consulting Project.[1]
Career History[edit | edit source]
From 2000 to 2006, she was the Contract Manager at COMSAT International; and from 1998 to 2006, she was the Contract Manager at COMSAT Argentina.
Since 2006, she has been an independent consultant in telecommunication issues, such as data protection, spam, security, e-commerce and cybercrime, development policies and procedures, analyse the regulatory framework, draft and negotiate contracts and develop and submit consulting and research projects.
At LACNIC's X Meeting held in May, 2007 on Margarita Island, Venezuela, she was selected as a key speaker to give a lecture entitled “Security of the Internet: Key Issues”.
Ms. Abalo was selected by the ISOC Ambassador Program to participate in the Internet Governance Forum in November, 2007, in Río de Janeiro.[2][3] She was the 2009 IGC MAG Candidate.[4]
She also participates in a radio program entitled “Right to Internet."[5]

She graduated Law School in 1992. She has studied post-degree courses in Telecommunication at the University of San Andres and University of Buenos Aries.
In 2007, she completed a course named Legal Aspects of E-commerce as a part of an E-learning program.[6]
She took the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme from the DiploFoundation; Ginger Paque and Adela Danciu tutored her.[7]
She participated with CICTE in courses of CSIRT about related-legal frameworks within the region[8], and an Open Session of Internet Governance Forum held in Rio de Jenerio.[9] She was a member of the working group organized by the National Office of Information Technologies.[10]
