Chris Mulola is a self-described "addict of IT Security", with over ten years of experience in the Telecommunications and ISP industry. Mulola works as an IT Security consultant, through a company called @ Cents ltd, which he founded in November 2011. 2 Cents offers online and onsite IT security courses through RSA for non-IT and IT personnel cybersecurity trainings.[1]
Mulola is the President of the Rwandan chapter of ISOC and has been the Rwandan chair for ALAC since November 2014.[2] He was previously also a part of the National ICT Plan, also known as NICI, during their 2011-2015 Cyber Security Cluster. The team was responsible for a study on the NICI III implementation phases and financial needs, and worked with teams from private companies and governmental organizations.[1]
As of ICANN 52 in Singapore, he had been to over two ICANN conferences, as well as IGF and WSIS. He was an ICANN Fellow at ICANN 52, where he aimed to increase the participation of his country in ALAC and different ICANN Working Groups.[2]
Amongst his proudest achievements he lists becoming an entrepreneur so that he could stop working for other people, and in the future, he hopes to become the most famous IT Security Engineer in East Africa. He summarizes his life in one sentence with the motto, "Try hard and then try harder."[2]
