.lol is a Brand TLD delegated in ICANN's New gTLD Program. Uniregistry, Corp. manages the TLD and is its registry. The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 02 May 2015.[1] [2]

  1. Google, .lol is one of the more than 50 new new generic top level domain names (gTLDs) proposed by the search engine giant.[3]
  2. Uniregistry, is a company established by domain name investor Frank Schilling. He confirmed that his company will try to acquire the string through the auction.[4][5]
