She acts as the co-Chair of the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age and participates in the Steering Committee of Markle's Connecting for Health initiative. She is also an honorary trustee of The Brookings Institution and serves as secretary and treasurer of the U.S. China Youth Forum. She is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Law Institute. She also serves on the Boards of Save the Children, the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Institute for State Studies at Western Governors University. She founded Children America and serves on the Board of Lawyers.
