He was head legal at the National ICT Company of Trinidad and Tobago from 2011 - 2013. He was also Licensing Specialist and acted as Legal Adviser at the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) from 2005 -2008.

Karel Douglas is a 2013 ICANN Fellow who is interested in legal matters; ICANN 47 in Durban was his first ICANN meeting. He was also selected as an ICANN Fellow for the ICANN 49 meeting in Singapore.[1].He was attended ICANN Fellow for the ICANN 50 meeting in London. He was also selected as an ICANN Fellow for the ICANN 54 meeting in Dublin, Ireland.
