.talk is a gTLD delegated to the Root Zone in ICANN's New gTLD Program on 25 March 2016. The registry operator is amazon.[1]

Applicant[edit | edit source]

  1. Amazon

Previous Applicant[edit | edit source]

  1. Google (Charleston Road Registry Inc.)[2]

Google Withdraws[edit | edit source]

Google withdrew their application for the .talk TLD in July 2014 after an assumed private deal or auction that left Amazon as the only applicant for the string. Amazon also won .you in the same month against Google, while Google became the sole applicant for .dev and .drive after Amazon withdrew.[3]
