Sally Costerton is ICANN's Senior Vice President of Global Stakeholder Engagement, and Senior Advisor to the President.[1] She was also one of the top four candidates for the position of ICANN CEO following the departure of Rod Beckstrom in 2012, which was eventually filled by Fadi Chehadé. Most recently, she served as CEO and Chairman of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region for Hill & Knowlton, one of the world's largest PR firms.[2] She is also the current President of the PRCA.[3]

Vice Presidential Appointees
Following appointees and initiatives by CEO Fadi Chehadé to improve Global engagement, Costerton appointed four Vice Presidents of Global Stakeholder Engagement were appointed in November, 2012:
- Pierre Dandjinou – Africa
- Baher Esmat - Middle East
- Veni Markovski - Russia and Eastern Europe
- Savenaca Vocea - Australasia and Pacific Islands
These 4 positions were intended to help "improve the international presence and participation in the organization's mulitstakeholder model." Ms. Costerton said at the time. "By having vice presidents around the world who speak the languages and understand the cultures of their respective regions we are reflecting the global diversity and inclusive nature of the Internet itself."[4]
Career History
Ms. Costerton left Hill & Knowlton at the end of 2011 voluntarily, following the end of her two year contract, which began in 2009 and was briefly extended. She was at Hill & Knowlton for a total of 12 years, having served in a variety of senior management positions including CEO of the company's UK offices, Head of Technology, EMEA,[5] and Head of Corporate Communication and Technology for the UK. She joined the company in July 1999 as Managing Director of Technology Practice, UK, prior to which she was the Managing Director of Abacus and the Main Board Director at The Argyll Consultancies. From 1988 until 1995, she was the Director of Quentin Bell Organisation. She began her career in 1986 as an Account Executive at Wedgwood Markham Associates.[6][7]
