Mark Seiden is a longtime programmer and computer security practitioner. He is Security Advisor to the Internet Archive, Director of Information Security at 1010data, and an Affiliate at Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC). He also works on civil and criminal cases as an expert. In 2019, he will be on the faculty at the UC Berkeley I-School, grid willing.

Seiden is a member of SSAC and is a regular ICANN attendee. As of ICANN 61 in Puerto Rico, he has attended more than 16 ICANN conferences. He was the SSAC representative to the Nomcom in 2016-2017 and was voted off the Nomcom island in 2018 for objectioning to the process of changes in Nomcom governance and operational procedures. Seiden was the first registrant of the domain name "food.com". He was named to the Time Digital list of 50 Cyberelite in 1997. His Erdos number is 4.
