Ida Ng'ang'a is the former Chairman, Membership & Outreach for Kenya for the Internet Society (the organization that sets the standards on how the internet operates). She was elected in September 2016, the first woman to hold this position.

She is the Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Consortium for Development (RCD Africa) and the Regional Partner for ComTecDev, UNESCO Chair for Emerging Technologies based at Université Bordeaux Montaigne, France.
She is the Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Consortium (of Experts) for Development - RCD Africa and the Regional Head, Anglophone Countries at UNESCO Chair for Emerging Technologies which is based in Bordeaux, France.
She is leading research on the impact of emerging technologies in the era of cyberthreats (artificial intelligence, IoT, block chain and big data).

She is passionate about technology and has vowed to make internet opportunities, digital learning, computer programming and mobile application development skills accessible to as many youth and women as possible. She leads Internet for Education discussions globally for the Internet Society. She sits on the boards of Internet for Development, Women in STEM and Africa Gender Taskforce Networks. She is on the UN Women Young Women's Leadership Taskforce and Youth4Gender team based in New York, as well as Women@Facebook Roundtable. She was recognized by Mara Foundation and the United Nations on International Women's Day (Prolific Woman, 2015) for mentoring young entrepreneurs in Africa.
