McPhearson is Executive Vice President and Chief Security Officer at Verisign.[1] Prior to that, he was the Chief Security Officer at Arbor Networks.[2]

McPhearson is a contributing author of many SSAC advisories, as well as journal articles on security topics.[3] He is a named inventor on a number of patents and patent applications.[4]
