.kz is the ccTLD for Kazakhstan. It is managed by the Association of IT Companies of Kazakhstan.[1]

Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

At registration it is necessary to provide a copy of identity document (in case registrant is an individual), a certificate of registration (in case registrant is a legal entity).[2]

Domain Suspension[edit | edit source]

Use of a domain name in the space of the Kazakhstan segment of the Internet is suspended when:

  • identification of unreliable information about registrant indicated in application submitted by the registrant for registration of the domain name;
  • identifying of malicious software on the Internet resource that creates a threat to the safe use of the Internet;
  • registrant does not eliminate information security incident, which was notified by the authorized body, or from the National Information Security Coordination Center;
  • absence of a safety certificate (domestic or foreign);
  • placement of Internet resources on hardware and software complexes outside territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A prerequisite for server hardware is its physical location on the country.[2]

Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]

The second-level reserved domain names and subsequent levels include domain names:

  • .edu.kz: intended for registration of third-level domain names for organizations of residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan engaged in educational activities;
  • .gov.kz: intended for registration of third-level domain names for state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • .mil.kz: intended for registration of third-level domain names for the bodies of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.[2]
