.group is a new gTLD delegated to the Root Zone in ICANN's New gTLD Program on 8 August 2015. Donuts is the registry provider.
Private Auction
In July 2014 Donuts won the rights to the .group string after a Private auction with the other 4 applicants. As with many of the private auctions conducted for New gTLDs, the winning bid was not disclosed.[1]
