Education

Greg Crew is holding a Bachelor degree in Engineering which he studied at the University of Tasmania in 1959, but also a Master degree in Administration which he studied at Monash University in 1979. He was also awarded the Honorary Doctorate of Science from the Open University of Hong Kong for telecommunication services and education in Hong Kong. [1]

Current position

Greg Crew is the Chairman of Australian Communications Industry Forum Ltd, (ACIF) which is considered as a self-regulatory body having the objective to manage self-regulation communications within Australia. [2]

Likewise, Greg Crew is also the Chairman or AITEC Ltd (Australian Information Technology Engineering Centre).[3] Plus, he is the Director of other several companies like ERG Ltd.

Finally, Greg Crew is non-executive director within ERG Ltd within the Audit Committee, and non-executive Director within Silicon Wireless Ltd. [4]

Professional experience

During his incredible and outstanding career, Greg Crew was appointed:

  • He started his career with various positions within engineering and commercial management business in Hong Kong and Australia.
  • Managing Director of Hongkong Telephone Co. Ltd between 1988-1991
  • Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong Telecommunications Ltd between 1991-1993.
  • Chief Executive Officer of Mercury Communications Ltd between 1993-1995.
  • ICANN Director in 1998 and he was part of the ICANN Board until the end of 2000. [5]

Membership in other organizations

  • Fellow within the Institution of Electrical Engineers;
  • Fellow within the Australian Institute of Company Directors;[6]
