Young Eum Lee works with the Korea National Open University and serves as a ccNSO council member representing .kr. She has been a councilor for the ccNSO since its inception in 2003, representing .kr in the Asia Pacific region.

She is currently a professor in the Department of Media Arts and Sciences at Korea National Open University, a distance learning institution; where she has been working since 1997, teaching subjects related to new technologies such as New Media, Multimedia Production, Information Networks, and Graphic Communication. Her research focuses on various aspects of the effects of new media such as the Internet, IPTV, DMB, and Satellite Television.
