Souleymane Oumtanaga is the General Manager of NIC.CI, a position he has held since 1992. Oumtanaga is also a Professor at the National Polytechnic Institute Felix Houphouët-Boigny. He is also a member of the LARIT, serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at APTLD,[1] and represents the African region in the ccNSO council.[2][3]
In 2009, he seconded Dr. Paulos Nyirenda to represent African Region at ccNSO council.[4]
Career History[edit | edit source]
Mr. Oumtanaga has served as the head of CFTIC (Training Centre for Information and Communication Technologies), EDIA (Doctoral School of Computer Sciences) and the University of Rennes.[5] He is the initiator of many Internet-related projects in his country, such as the AI3L, the CIIXP, and IPv6 deployment in Ivory Coast.[6]
He has been the Vice President of Capacity Building[7] and has worked at INPHB.[8]
He was AFNIC International College member in 2003.[9]
Meetings and Workshops[edit | edit source]
He attends AFTLD meetings,[10][11][12] ICANN Meetings,[13] and AfriNIC meetings.[14][15]
He was a speaker at the Internet Governance Forum, Role of AfriNIC and IPv4 to IPv6 Challenges.[16] and was the chair at Advanced Registry Operation Course Workshop during two sessions.[17] He was a panelist at Worldwide NIC's co-development : "Joint initiative for an automated management"[18]
Mr. Oumtanga was a speaker at Forum for African Policy Makers and Regulators on Internet Governance.[19] He was a chair at 4th AfTLD African ccTLD Event.[20]
He attended First African ccTLD Workshop, where he gave a presentation about automated Registry System.[21]
He was an instructor at 2nd EURO-NF Summer School on Socio-Economic and Governance Issues.[22]
