.hitachi is a proposed new gTLD in ICANN's new gTLD program being applied for by Hitachi Ltd.. The Japanese company has teamed up with GMO Registry to run its technical functions; GMO is also based in Tokyo.[1]
Hitachi Ltd., is a multinational conglomerate that has 11 distinct divisions, and is part of a larger group of companies. Its divisions include: Information and Telecommunication Systems, Electrical Systems, Social and Industrial Systems, Automotive Systems, Electronic Component Devices, Construction, and Financial services.[2]
