.kyoto is a proposed new gTLD in ICANN's new gTLD program. The Kyoto government has given its support to a computer and IT graduate school in Kyoto, the Kyoto Gakuen University, to apply for and manage the extension.[1] They have partnered with GMO Registry for their technical back-end services, it is unclear whether the TLD will be applied for in both Japanese and English.[2][3]
