Alain Berranger is Executive-in-residence at Schulich School of Business at York U., Toronto, Ontario. Much of his career has been focused on international development, and he has worked with aid agencies, management and engineering consulting firms, and the private sector.

Alain Berranger is the Chair of ICANN's Not-For-Profit Operational Concerns Constituency (NPOC).[2] He was first appointed as the Acting Vice Chair by Amber Sterling when the constituency was first formed in 2011, after ICANN 41 in Singapore. Mr. Berranger later won the constituency's first election.

Alain Berranger has been listed in Who's Who in Canada since 2000.

He holds an MBA and a B.Eng in Metallurgy from McGill University.
