.java is a proposed new TLD in ICANN's New gTLD Program submitted by the Oracle Corporation.
During ICANN's comment period of the application process the bid was opposed due to the fact that Java is also an Indonesian island and territory and thus should be protected as stated in the applicant guidebook.[1]
