"Federated Co-operatives Limited (“FCL”) is a Canadian co-operative that is owned by approximately 240 retail cooperatives. These retail cooperatives service more than 500 communities.  Together, FCL and its member-owners are known as the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).  FCL’s mission is to provide responsible, innovative leadership and support to the Co-operative Retailing Systems, for the benefit of members, employees and Canadian communities. The primary mission of the .crs gTLD is to provide a standardized top-level domain to connect the 240 member retails and their branches via a common top-level domain in an authenticated environment.  This will provide branding consistency, security, and authenticity to our members.  The mission of our .crs top level domain is to provide our members with an enhanced online experience and confidence in knowing that they have reached the one and only CRS and thus our application is designed an effort to preserve the goodwill, distinctiveness and brand integrity of the CRS while seeking to provide our members and the internet using public with the confidence that the content, data and information found on our top level domain is authentic, genuine, safe and secure.  FCL intends to request a Specification 9 exempt TLD system."<ref>[http://gtldresult.icann.org/application-result/applicationstatus/applicationdetails/85 Application Details, gTLDresult.ICANN.org] Retrieved 16 Feb 2013</ref>
