.smart is a Brand TLD being proposed in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The applicant is Smart Communications, Inc.[1] It is a closed, Brand TLD, which the applicant reinforced through the submission of a Public Interest Commitment stating as much.[2]
The applicant did not pass the Initial Evaluation after failing the technical evaluation of the application. It is eligible for Extended Evaluation.[3]
