In 1996 Johannes Loxen founded SerNet, focused on internet and information security. SerNet believes in the power of Open Source software and methodology by offering 'SAMBA+, an Open Source software stack for Linux/Windows interoperability and verinice, the only Open Source ISMS-Tool currently in the market for ISO 27001, BSI Baseline Security and GDPR data protection rules and law. SerNet is domain registrar by membership of DENIC[2].

In March 2017 AUDEG has been founded as a non-for-profit association. AUDEG members are auditors, esp. in the field of information security, using the association as a voice for their joint interests in a rapidly evolving market and to organise audit & certification services from an independent organisation.

ICANN and Internet Governance Participation[edit | edit source]

Johannes Loxen served as member of the supervisory board at DENIC[3]for 9 years since 2007. He stepped back in 2016 because 3 terms in a row is his personal limit for any elected position.

Education[edit | edit source]

Dr. Loxen earned his Diploma in Physics (1991), PhD in Astro-Physics (1996), and he studied physics and law at GAUG[4].
