The International Personnel Service offers comprehensive information on working and living in Germany and helps you find a job.[1] The ZAV –International Placement Service consists of 12 regional teams who focus on jobseekers and a centralized employers service in Bonn and deals with about 30.000 vacancies annually. In 2007 approximately 7700 jobseekers were placed in Europe with the help of the ZAV.[2]

Services

ZAV acts in an advisory capacity, offers placement services, helps in networking and under certain circumstances, offers financial assistance through the Recruiting Experts Program.

The requirements for receiving financial assistance are as follows;[3]

You are a citizen of a developing, emerging or transition country. You have a valid residence permit for Germany.

  • You have completed studies or training in Germany or in another OECD country
  • You were employed in your profession for at least two years in Germany or in another OECD country
  • You would like to return to your country of origin or to another developing, emerging or transition country to take up employment there.

What is decisive for financial support is the development policy significance of your application and your personal qualifications, including your training /education and professional experience. You must register online prior to your departure from Germany. If you wish to apply for financial support for travel and transport, you must apply for this, too, before your departure. There is no legal entitlement to support.

Financial support is offered for experts returning to the following priority countries : Afghanistan, Albania, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Georgia, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Morocco, Moldova, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, Serbia, Tunisia, Ukraine and Viet Nam, and also for Palestinian returnees.
