Atsushi Endo has been with Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd (JPRS), the .jp ccTLD registry since 2001.
Currently, as a Manager of Corporate Planning Office and Strategic Planning Department, He is in charge of designing strategic plan of JPRS. Prior to current position, he has involved in external affairs, public relations and business development of JPRS. Especially, he heavily engaged in business development of JPRS including gTLD Registrar and new gTLD business through contracting RAA (Registrar Accreditation Agreement)of JPRS and its subsidiary and RA(Registry Agreement)of TLD “.jprs” with ICANN Organization.
Atsushi is long time participant of ICANN community. His first participation for ICANN meeting was ICANN 32 in Paris on 2008 and he has been regular attendee and participant of the ICANN Meeting since ICANN 40 in San Francisco on 2011.
Currently he is a member of ccNSO Strategic and Operational Planning Standing Committee (SOPC) and contributes to its works with utilizing my experience as a member of ccNSO Strategic and Operational Working Group (SOPWG) from 2010 to 2012.[1]
Atsushi has been Principal Contact of JPRS for Registries Stakeholder Group since 2012. [2]
Atsushi has engaged in activities in Asia Pacific Region from his earlier years, acted as the co-chair of the AP Retreat Meeting, semiannual gathering of AP organizations including APTLD and APNIC, in Tokyo held in January 2006.[3] He has also been heavily involved in "Internet Next Generation" activities in the Asia Pacific Region that encourage the youth to become core community leaders; including his role as the of vice-chair of the 5th Asia Pacific Next Generation Camp, which was hosted by APNG, the Asia Pacific Networking Group, in 2004.
Atsushi also has served as the Board Member of the DotAsia Organisation, Sponsor Organization / Registry Operator of TLD ".asia" since 2006 and contributed to enhance DotAsia’s value and efforts to the Asia Pacific Internet community and ICANN community from very early stage. [4]
He is long time contributor to Local Internet Community in Japan, including currently serving as an Officer (Treasurer) of Internet Society (ISOC) Japan Chapter.
Controversy [edit | edit source]
In 2020, DotAsia, its CEO Edmon Chung, and directors Maureen Hilyard, Satish Babu, Lim Choon Sai, Atsushi Endo, and Lianna Galstyan were sued by DotPH over the .SPA Top Level Domain. [5]

Atsushi graduated from Sophia University, Tokyo with a B.A. in Law and holds a M.A. in Political Science from Keio University Graduate School of Law, Tokyo.
