Souleymane Oumtanaga is the General Manager of NIC.CI, a position he has held since 1992. Oumtanaga is also a Professor at the National Polytechnic Institute Felix Houphouët-Boigny. He is also a member of the LARIT, serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at APTLD,[1] and represents the African region in the ccNSO council.[2][3]

Since 2009, he has represented the African Region on the ccNSO Council.[4][5]

Career History[edit | edit source]

Mr. Oumtanaga has served as the head of CFTIC (Training Centre for Information and Communication Technologies), EDIA (Doctoral School of Computer Sciences) and the University of Rennes.[6] He is the initiator of many Internet-related projects in his country, such as the AI3L, the CIIXP, and IPv6 deployment in Ivory Coast.[7]

He has been the Vice President of Capacity Building[8] and has worked at INPHB.[9]

He was AFNIC International College member in 2003.[10]

Meetings and Workshops[edit | edit source]

He attends AfTLD meetings,[11][12][13] ICANN Meetings,[14] and AfriNIC meetings.[15][16]

He was a speaker at the Internet Governance Forum, Role of AfriNIC and IPv4 to IPv6 Challenges.[17] and was the chair at Advanced Registry Operation Course Workshop during two sessions.[18] He was a panelist at Worldwide NIC's co-development : "Joint initiative for an automated management"[19]

Mr. Oumtanga was a speaker at Forum for African Policy Makers and Regulators on Internet Governance.[20] He was a chair at 4th AfTLD African ccTLD Event.[21]

He attended First African ccTLD Workshop, where he gave a presentation about automated Registry Systems.[22]

He was an instructor at 2nd EURO-NF Summer School on Socio-Economic and Governance Issues.[23]
