History

French Connexion (Domaine.fr) was founded in 1996 by a team of new technology enthusiasts from Nice-Sophia-Antipolis in South France. The founding team was led by Sam Syamak Bavafa, who returned to France to establish the company after gaining experience in the internet industry managing portfolios of domain names for local American companies and working for Sorm Design and Cisco in the design of telecommunications equipment.[2]

During its establishment French Connexion specializes in management and hosting domain portfolios on Macintosh.The company also uses Linux for its hosting platform to satisfy its customers.

French Connexion is accredited by the ICANN, Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération (AFNIC); manager for the geographic domain names .fr and .re registry, [3] COREnic,a non-profit membership association and organization of internet domain name registrar and registries, [4] and EUDR, a Pan-European Consortium that manages the delegation of .eu extension [5].
