History of Yahoo!

• In January 1994, two individuals named Jerry Yang and David Filo founded the company Yahoo!
• On 18 January 1995, the domain name yahoo.com was created.
• In April 1996, am IPO was launched by Yahoo! with 49 employees.
• In September 1997, Yahoo acquired Net Controls from which Yahoo! Search was derived.
• In October 1997, Yahoo acquired Four11 and its web service mail was called Yahoo! Mail.
• Yahoo! began to use Google’s search results in 2000 and started to work on its own search technology.
• In 2004 Yahoo! Began to use its own technology for searching anything on net.
• Yahoo! Mail was revamped in 2007 to compete with Gmail.

Afterwards, Yahoo! never looked back. It acquired wide array of services and it helped Yahoo! in growing its network. The stock prices of Yahoo! rose to high values and it enjoyed huge demand in the market until Dot-Com Bubble.
