UniForum SA is the domain administrator for .co.za. According to their website they have more than 0.6 million registered domain names.[1] However UniForum SA has been administrating .co.za without proper license.[2] Initially UniForum SA was a local chapter of UniForum Association based in United States.[3]
For its administration and management skills, UniForum is ISO 9002 certified organization.[4]

UniForum SA was established in 1980 and started administration of .co.za in 1995. It joined ISPA n 1996. UniForum collaborates with international bodies for promotion of their SLD.[5] uniForum has always worked for open source systems.[6]
UniForum & ICANN edit
Since the inception of ICANN, uniforum has participated in its all meetings. It actively promotes developing countries' issues in ICANN meetings. It also encourages African government to participate in various ICANN and GAC activities. The association has supported ICANN initiatives of AfrISPA, AfriNIC and AfrICANN.[7]

In February 2011, UniForum SA joined Joburg Centre for Software Engineering for the development and awareness of ICT in South Africa.[8]
For the awareness of internet and computers in high school students, UniForum SA is supporting Computer Applications Olympiad 2011.[9]
UniForum SA has taken initiatives to develop internet awareness in public by starting different projects like; Mindset Computer Science Curriculum project, COZA Cares School of the Month project and ISPA Teacher Training initiatives.[10]
UniForum hosted iweek annual conference together with ISPA on 15–17 September 2010.[11]
