Cathrin Bauer-Bulst is Deputy Head of Unit for the fight against cybercrime and child sexual abuse at the European Union's European Commmission, DG Migration and Home Affairs. Her team develops legislative proposals and policy and coordinates EU efforts to better fight cybercrime. Ms Bauer-Bulst has a background in law and IT; prior to her career at the Commission, she worked for an international law firm in Brussels and an IT consultancy in New York.
ICANN and Internet Governance Participation[edit | edit source]
Bauer-Bulst started attending ICANN meetings at ICANN 50 in London in 2014. She is part of the European Commission's GAC delegation and serves as the co-chair of the GAC Public Safety Working Group. She also was a vice-chair of the Registration Directory Services 2 Review Team.
Bauer-Bulst moderated two High-Interest Topic sessions on WHOIS and DNS Abuse Mitigation at ICANN 57 and ICANN 58 and is a frequent speaker on topics related to the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, the WHOIS and related issues, including at a number of cross-community sessions.
