Hifzur Rehman is the Federal Secretary of Information Technology and Telecom Ministry of Pakistan. He has been working for the development of IT and software industry of Pakistan on behalf of the ministry, implementing different new national policies for Information technology, creating new scopes of IT and software market, forming nationwide groups and foundations and encouraging foriegn investment in the IT field of Pakistan.

In 1998, he stated Pakistan software exports would grow by 50 percent by the next fiscal year with the continuation of its policies for IT. [1]. In 2004, he announced the support of Ministry of IT to the initiatives taken to counter the cyber crimes and challenges that faced in ensuring information security in Pakistan. [2] In 2009, he hosted World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) in Pakistan. [3] He also acts as the delegate and spokesperson representing IT fields of Pakistan in various international events and meeting.
